Nigeria suffered a shocking defeat to the Central African Republic in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Thursday evening.
The Super Eagles who were clear favourites to win the Group C encounter in Lagos were beaten by the Central African Republic team by a lone goal scored within the stoppage-time of the game.
The goal came from substitute Karl Namnganda, who plays in the French fourth tier for Les Herbiers in the 91st minute.
The forward latched on to a long ball which the Super Eagles defence had failed to clear to score in the 91st minute in Lagos.
Nigeria remain top of Group C with six points from three matches, but the Central African Republic are now just two points behind Gernot Rohr’s side after registering their first win.
