Women Nominees For Player, Coach Of The Month For February/March Announced

Four top performers have been shortlisted for the NASCO Player of the Month for February and March in the Ghana Women’s Premier League. 

They were selected based on their brilliance in matches played during the period.

Below are the nominees for the Coach of the Month – February/March:

Barikisu Abdul-Rahman – Pearlpia Ladies

Abdul-Rahman who recently returned from injury, has featured in all five matches and meted out some incredible performances which have earned her the NASCO Player of the Month three times on a roll. She also has a goal to her credit.

Doreen Copson – Hasaacas Ladies

Copson featured in all five matches played in the Months of February and March and recorded three goals. She also won the NASCO Player of the Match once.

Veronica Appiah – Hasaacas Ladies

Appiah shot herself to prominence featuring in all five matches and currently leads the top scorers chart with eight goals with three of the goals scored in the period under review.

Philomena Abakah – Berry Ladies

Abakah has been exceptional in the last five matches, scoring three goals and winning the NASCO Player of the Match once in the process.

NASCO Coach of the Month award 

Meanwhile, four astute coaches in the Ghana Women’s Premier League who led their teams to impressive results in February and March have also been nominated for the NASCO Coach of the Month Award.

Below are the nominees for the Coach of the Month – February/March:

Yusif Basigi – Hasaacas Ladies

Coach Basigi has shown consistency from the beginning of the season and has a hundred percent record in all five matches played. His side lead the Southern zone with 30 points in thirteen matches.

Joe Nana Adarkwa – Ampem Darkoa

Coach Adarkwa led Ampem Darkoa to three wins and two draws out of five matches continue to keep their unbeaten run, the team currently lead the Northern zone standings with 16 out of the possible 18 points., scoring 14 goals in total, and currently top the Northern Zone by one point.

Baba Nuhu – Pearlpia Ladies

Under Coach Nuhu, Pearlpia Ladies secured two wins and two draws out of their five matches played in the months under review.

Prince Acheampong – Fabulous Ladies

Coach Acheampong was also included in the list as his side secured two wins, two draws and only one defeat in the months under review.

Both winners are expected to receive a television set each from sponsors NASCO.
