Bibiani Gold Stars Sporting Club goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi says the team is ready to face Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the Champion of Champions game.
This year’s game has the Ghana Premier League Champions Gold Stars take on the winners of the MTN FA Cup, Kotoko, on Sunday, August 31 at 15:00 GMT at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani.
The game comes on the back of both teams competing in the GHALCA Top 4 competition, which had Gold Stars emerge as champions.
On the other hand, Kotoko finished bottom of the standings after losing all three games in the above-mentioned tournament, including a 2-1 loss to Gold Stars in their opening game.
Speaking in an interview with Gold Stars media ahead of the game, Kobi was confident of his team’s preparation for the weekend game, stating,

“Once we have been able to lift the Ghana Premier League, we are not scared of any team. We are ready to face them [Kotoko]. We need to be able to win the Champion of Champions Cup.”

Gold Stars commence their CAF Champions League campaign on JS Kabylie on September 19.
