The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results for candidates who took the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for Private Candidates.

In a statement issued on September 5, 2025, WAEC announced that candidates can now access their results online via the Council’s official website: www.waecgh.org.

A total of 1,661 candidates, 858 males and 803 females registered for the exam, which was conducted at 15 centres nationwide. However, 33 candidates were absent.

WAEC has withheld the results of three candidates over suspected examination malpractices.

These cases are under investigation. Affected candidates can check the status of their results by visiting https://litreg.waecgh.org and selecting the “withheld/cancelled” option on the homepage, which will redirect them to a dedicated irregularities page.

The Council cautioned candidates and the public to be wary of scammers who claim they can upgrade results for a fee, emphasizing that all WAEC results are secure and verifiable.
