U-20 WWC: Black Princesses draw tough opponents in Group D

Ghana U-20 Women’s football team, the Black Princesses, have been drawn against tough opponents in Group D of the FIFA U-20 World Cup to be hosted in Costa Rica.

The draw for the tournament held on Thursday saw the Princess drawn in Group D which has three times champions, USA, the Netherlands and current holders Japan who won the last edition in 2018.

This means Ghana must produce their very best in order to advance from the knockout stage. Ghana will be making their sixth appearance, and they have failed to advance past the group stage in the previous five.

It also produced some intriguing fixtures to look out for when the tournament begins as fellow African nation Nigeria were also placed in a difficult group with France, Canada, and the Republic of Korea.

The tournament is set to begin on August 10 and end on August 20.
