Ghana’s Black Maidens have progressed to the final round of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after beating their Guinean opponents 10-1 on aggregate.
The maidens won the first leg 3-1 in Conakry two weeks ago before winning 7-0 in the 2nd leg at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday.
The Black Maidens started on a good paddle and were rewarded with the first goal after Nancy Amoah’s corner on the 12th minute landed on the blind side of the goal keeper Maimouna Coumbassa.
Captain of the Maidens, Georgina Aoyem increased the tally with an effort on the 18th minute before Nancy Amoah got her brace to make it 3-0 before half time.
The Black Maidens continued to dictate the pace in the second half and added four more courtesy goals from Dejean Kubura, Mary Amponsah and a brace from Constance Agyemang to ensure the Maidens continue in their quest to extend their record of qualifying for every edition of the U-17 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Black Maidens will now face Morocco in the final round of the qualifiers.
The 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will begin from October 11 to October 30 in India.
