There is a traffic gridlock on the Pokuase – Achimota highway after an accident occurred Monday morning.
The accident which occured at Ofankor barrier involves three vehicles; a commercial ‘trotro’ vehicle, a trailer truck and saloon car.
All three cars have overturned on the overpass; causing discomfort for other drivers who are unable to use that stretch of the road.
Fifteen people are reported to be in critical condition.
An eye witness said “two cars had parked inappropriately ( double parking ). At the time, the truck driver was also on a tough speed coming so at that point, he couldn’t meander his way through and had to run into the trotro. The passengers in the trotro sustained injuries but I doubt we will record any deaths”.
