The 2025 Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup will deliver more than just a football spectacle this Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium, with organisers confirming a special performance from Ghanaian rap legend Nii Addo Quaynor, popularly known as Tinny.
Now established as a major cultural and entertainment fixture in Accra, the Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup blends sport with tradition, drawing football lovers and festivalgoers alike.
Event organiser Sammy Anim, speaking on on Channel One TV, expressed his delight at securing the iconic artist for this year’s showpiece.
“I can confirm that we’d have the legend Nii Addo Quaynor, better known by his stage name Tinny, perform on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium,” Anim said.
Tinny, widely recognised as one of the pioneers of Ga rap music, is expected to energise the crowd with some of his biggest hits, adding a musical flourish to the festival atmosphere.
His appearance is set to complement the on-field action in honour of the Gbese Mantse’s Homowo celebrations.
The football contest will see Accra Hearts of Oak face Hearts of Lions in what promises to be a fiercely competitive encounter.
With elite football, rich cultural displays, and Tinny’s high-energy performance, the 2025 edition is poised to be an unforgettable celebration of sport, music, and heritage in the capital.
