Three people are fighting for their lives after a truck heavily loaded with wood overturned on the Kumasi to Sefwi Asawinso road in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.
The accident happened on the morning of December 12, 2025, and brought movement on the busy stretch to a slow crawl as drivers struggled to navigate around the large vehicle and scattered wood.
According to initial reports, the truck landed on its side and spilled its load on the edge of the road. The sudden blockage created long tailbacks, leaving several travellers stranded for hours.
Many passengers had to get down and continue on foot while waiting for authorities to respond.
Residents and other road users rushed to the scene to help rescue the victims who were trapped inside the vehicle.
Emergency responders later arrived and transported the injured to a nearby health facility where they remain in critical condition.
Meanwhile, officials are yet to provide full details on the condition of the victims or the ongoing efforts to clear the area completely.
