A suspected goat thief believed to be in his twenties has been beaten to a pulp at Edina Essaman near Ataabadze in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abirim District of the Central Region.
Information gathered indicates that four suspected goat thieves were roaming at Ataabadze Junction at around midnight on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
The suspects are said to have parked a vehicle in which they were keeping goats stolen from the neighbourhood.
Later, they sped off to a different location to commit similar crimes.
Residents closely monitored the thieves while they were snooping around for goats to steal and arrested one suspect at Edina Essaman.
However, the other three accomplices managed to escape.
The angry residents, after grabbing him, beat him mercilessly and dumped him along the roadside.
The angry youths later released the goats.
On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, the suspect staggered up from where he was dumped and went away.
