Suspect arrested for killing 22-year-old man at Yorogo

The police have arrested one person in connection with the death of a 22-year-old man at Yorogo, a suburb of Bolga Central in the Upper East Region.

A preliminary police report indicates that the suspect, Abotiyareba Aduko, stabbed Asobire Akuta during a fight yesterday, December 19, 2023, at about 6:30 p.m.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival by the medical authorities.

Suspect Abotiyareba Aduko is currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.

Stabbing has become rampant in recent times.

On Tuesday, November 28, a 34-year-old Nigerian, Ukechwuku, popularly known as ‘Nose Mask’, was lynched by angry residents of Gomoa Akotsi in the Central Region after he stabbed two people.

Also, on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at a public toilet in Pankrono, 27-year-old Kwame Owusu Banahene was stabbed to death as a result of a communal clash between Pankrono and Adabraka youths.
