A 20-year-old student of the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) at Bole in the Savannah Region has managed to escape the grip of some suspected kidnappers.
According to the victim, the suspects abducted him from his school premises during supper on Sunday, 18 September 2022.
Speaking about his encounter, the victim said the suspects hit him on his neck, which caused him to be unconscious.
Upon regaining consciousness, he found himself in a cemetery he identified as the Bole royal cemetery.
The two men who abducted him then asked him for a number they (the suspects) could call to demand a ransom.
However, he devised a means to reach out to his mates from school under the blind side of the kidnappers. Upon suspicion that the victim might have called for help, one of the suspects decided to go and check.
The suspect, sensing danger, used the opportunity to escape.
The victim then fought his way to freedom with the second kidnapper.
The Principal of Bole NVTI, Alhassan Salifu, speaking about the incident, said students are now feeling apprehensive as they sometimes go out of the school’s premises in search of water due to a lack of potable water.
He then appealed to the government to heighten security and police patrol around the school to enhance the safety of the students.
