Four of six Tema West New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives are currently on admission at Tema General Hospital receiving care following their involvement in a ghastly accident on Tema Beach Road.
In an interview with the Chairman of the constituency, Kwasi Poku Bosompem, he disclosed that the victims were returning home after monitoring the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
The other two are said to have been discharged after being treated.
According to Kwasi Poku, the accident occurred after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19.
Kwasi Poku allayed the fears of the party faithful and thanked health personnel at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital for the care.
The ongoing Limited Voter Registration exercise has been characterized by violence in some districts.
According to reports, the victim, who is a member of the NDC communication team, was left in a critical condition as a result of the commotion that broke out between the NDC and NPP at the Election Commission’s Agona West office in the Central Region.
According to the victims, the assailants took their mobile phones and over GH₵11,000 during the Sunday attack.
“Our phones, our money have been stolen. I had 150 dollars in my phone case, which was also stolen. My colleagues also suffered the same fate,” one of the victims recounted.
Another victim, Gifty Dogbe, who could not stand, told journalists that her legs gave up after one of the attackers hit her with a stick.
