Sekondi College crowned zonal champions after narrow win over Adiembra SHS

Sekondi College (SEKCO) clinched the Boys’ title in the Sekondi Zone of the Western Region Schools and Colleges Sports Federation after edging out defending champions Adiembra SHS (ADISEC) 1-0 on Friday, 9 May 2025.

A decisive second-half goal at the Gyandu Park separated the two sides in a tightly contested final.

SEKCO’s triumph capped an impressive campaign, having earlier defeated ADISEC 3-2 in their final Group B game to top the table.

Adiembra SHS had lost their semi-final match but were reinstated in the final after Shama SHS, who had beaten them, were disqualified for fielding unqualified players.

In the third-place playoff, Daboase Senior High Technical School claimed bronze after beating Shama SHS 5-4 on penalties. The match had ended 1-1 in regulation time.

On the Girls’ side, ADISEC successfully defended their title with a dominant 3-0 win over Fijai SHS. Standout performers included Olivia Minah (Form 1, General Arts) and Christabel Arthur (Form 2, Visual Arts), who also plays for Hasaacas Ladies.

Shama SHS took third place in the Girls’ division after a 2-0 victory over Ahantaman Girls SHS.
