The Ghana Education Service(GES) has disclosed that the process for school selection into Senior High Schools for candidates in the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will commence on Wednesday, August 23.
In a statement dated Friday, August 11, 2023, GES said they will conduct sensitisation and education on this year’s guidelines in all regions and schools before the exercise.
The sensitisation which will include an informative video that elaborates on the school selection guidelines is scheduled to begin on Friday, August 18.
“Management informs stakeholders that the selection of schools is scheduled from 23rd August to 4th September 2023,” the statement announced.
It added that “there will be an opportunity for candidates to text to a short code and confirm their school choices before actual placement will be done”.
GES urged parents and guardians are particularly advised to take a keen interest in the selection of schools processes to ensure a smooth placement this year.
Meanwhile, the 2023 BECE has come to an end.
The examination which started on Monday, August 7 ended on Friday, August 11, 2023.
