With just seven days till the start of the World Cup, Black Stars midfielder, Baba Iddrisu is expected to miss out on the tournament due to an injury he picked up against Atletico Madrid.
The 26-year-old was substituted at halftime in Mallorca’s 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
Iddrisu was named in Otto Addo’s provisional 55-man Black Stars squad and was expected to make the cut for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar but with the latest development, he will have to excuse himself from the tournament.
According to multiple sources, the GFA medical team received the news on Saturday and reportedly picked a replacement.
Baba Iddrisu joins Jojo Wollacott and Richard Ofori on the players set to miss the Mundial for the Black Stars.
