President Akufo-Addo has urged the Alajo community to make good use of the recently installed astroturf in their area.
The President made this call during a visit to the community on Tuesday to commission the project. The installation of the astroturf is part of the government’s efforts to promote sports in the country.
The President emphasized the need for the community to take advantage of the facility to develop their sports skills and organize sports events and also maintain the facility very well.
Joining the President to commission the astroturf was Ministry of Youth and Sports Minister Hon. Mustapha Ussif, Greater Accra Regional Minister Henry Quartey, Coastal Development Authority Director, Alajo Mantse, Greater Accra Mayor among others.
“I urge residents of this constituency and those in other constituencies that are beneficiaries of these astro turfs to put them to effective use. The various committees set up to manage these assets must also pay critical attention to the maintenance to help enhance their life span,” he said.
