The Jasikan District Police have arrested a 23-year-old man, Innocent Owusu, in connection with the alleged killing of his father, Peter Owusu, aged 59, at Likpe Abrani in the Oti Region.
In a statement, the police said the incident occurred on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the family’s home.
After the alleged incident, the suspect reportedly fled the area.
Following intelligence-led investigations, police later tracked and arrested Innocent Owusu at a hideout in a nearby forest close to Abrani.
The police confirmed that the body of the deceased has been recovered and deposited at the Hohoe Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and further examination as investigations continue.
The suspect is currently in Police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations, and is expected to be processed in accordance with the law.
The Oti Regional Police Command commended residents of Likpe Abrani for their swift cooperation and assistance, which contributed to the successful arrest of the suspect.
The Command also extended the condolences of the Police Administration to the bereaved family during this period of grief.
