Philanthropist Jesse Tay feasts with Remar Orphanage Inmates

Businessman and philanthropist, Mr. Jesse Tay and his family on Sunday 23rd April 2023 visited the Remar Ghana Christian Rehabilitation Center and Children’s Home in Tema to have a feast with them.

The gesture which also included a donation of books for children was to mark the celebration of his birthday, commemorated under the theme: Giving Smiles.

It wasn’t his first time engaging with the home as he had earlier this year donated sanitary products including detergents and toilet rolls among others to the orphanage.

Speaking to the media during the celebration, The Tema-based philanthropist reiterated the importance of giving back to society, adding that every member of the community must be sensitive to the needs of the vulnerable.

“It always feels good to see people happy, and that is why I do my best to ensure I regularly make funds available to undertake philanthropic activities geared towards making Ghana and the world at large, a better place,” he said.

He also expressed optimism that the less privileged children will also survive and be productive citizens of Ghana and humanity in general.

“Every individual on earth has a purpose of being here and it is my hope that these children will grow and be better citizens of Ghana”, He said.

Mr Tay also encouraged the beneficiaries to remain steadfast and never give up on life “because no condition is permanent.” and also lauded the management of the REMAR Center for their continuous effort in putting smiles on the faces of the orphans.

“Your efforts will never go unnoticed as God almighty will surely pay you back”, He said.

When asked why he chose the center for the generous act, he indicated that as a resident of Tema, he found it necessary to make sure people within his immediate environment benefited from his philanthropic acts as well, since “charity begins at home.”

The businessman further entreated all members of the public to be kind to the needy, orphans and widows, in whatever small way, as such individuals need love the most, and are dear to the heart of God.

During the event, the orphans were treated to various local and continental dishes, drinks cakes and other snacks, cooked on–site by Jesse and friends including Dr. Osa Noi – Sanar and ex–Black Stars centreback Jerry Akaminko among others. Inmates were also engaged in a gamut of fun activities like musical chairs, dancing competitions and singing.

A representative of the Remar Ghana Christian Rehabilitation Center and Children’s Home, Mr. Edward, expressed gratitude to Mr. Tay and his team for their benevolence and called on other individuals and organisations to emulate this kind gesture.
