Over 150 land guards attack farmers at Gomoa

Over 150 land guards have invaded the Gomoa Okyereko community in the Central Region amidst gunshots.

The armed men destroyed farmlands and chased several people away from their farmlands.

Residents have accused some politicians and opinion leaders from Winneba of sending the land guards and using force to seize their farms.

Some residents have said that despite numerous complaints to the District Chief Executive, Solomon Darko Quarm, the Central East Regional Police Command, and Dominase District Police Command, nothing has been done to address the problem.

Therefore, They are calling on the IGP to intervene immediately, or they will mobilize themselves and fight the intruders.

Meanwhile, the chief of Gomoa Okyereko, Nana Kofi Donkor, disclosed that the land guards had graded over 200 acres of land and destroyed all of the crops grown there.

He wondered why land guards from Winneba were brazenly operating and terrorizing them when the government had passed an anti-land guard law.
