A former Deputy Finance Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Kwarteng, has emerged victorious in the just-ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.
After a delay caused by a court injunction, Mr Kwarteng emerges as the parliamentary candidate-elect for Obuasi West Constituency.
The January 27 primaries were halted due to legal challenges over the credibility of the constituency album.
However, the plaintiffs withdrew their case, allowing the primaries to proceed on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Kwarteng clinched victory with 440 votes, defeating Faustina Oppong Sarfo and Lawrence Nana Obeng Bondah.
Meanwhile, the Asante Mampong constituency remains the only constituency in the Ashanti Region yet to conduct its primaries.
