Nigeria coach Augustine Eguaveon has revealed that there won’t be any distractions to his starting eleven before the game against Ghana.

The former Nigeria captain led the team at the Africa Cup of Nations where they reached the last 16 before getting eliminated by Tunisia.

With Watford’s Peter Etebo returning after recovering from injury, many have suggested he walks back straight into the starting line up.

However, Eguaveon says he already knows his starting team for the match against Ghana.

“I have worked with him closely, also watched him closely when he played in the U23s and when he played for the former coach Gernot Rohr in the Super Eagles.

“Etebo coming in now does not say he would be in the starting line-up,” he added.

The Black Stars will host Nigeria on March 25, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports stadium before travelling to Abuja in four days time for the second leg.
