A 74-year-old Nigerian woman, identified as Maa Pat who was reported missing on Thursday, June 15, was reportedly found dead on Sunday, June 18 at Ayebeahwe Beposo, a suburb of Akyem Kwamang in the Kwaebibirem Municipality of the Eastern Region.
According to an Opinion Leader in the Ayebeahwe Beposo community, Okyeame Nkrumah, the family of the deceased informed him about the disappearance of the woman and a search party was launched to find the deceased.
After several hours of searching, a pungent smell emanating from the neighbourhood led residents to the deceased’s decomposing body in the bush.
The deceased was found lying face down with no obvious signs of struggle.
The Eastern Regional Police Command was informed immediately and Policemen visited the scene and retrieved the body and deposited it at the morgue for preservation and further investigations.
