According to the victim, Rebecca Arhin, she went out on Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. and, on returning home, saw that her room was engulfed in smoke.

Some eyewitnesses said the suspect prevented quenching the fire when it started.

They said that while calling for people to help, the church elder quietly packed his things and went out. He has not been seen since then.

Meanwhile, the Assembly member for Ekumfi Ekrawful Electoral Area, Zachariah Quansah, has appealed to the general public to support the victim because all her belongings had been burned completely.

He said a report had been made to the police for an investigation, and a manhunt had been launched to arrest the suspect.
