A young man believed to be in his early 30s, Yaw Christopher popularly called Chris has been found dead in his room at Dabiasem, a suburb of New Juaben North municipality of Eastern region.
The incident happened on Wednesday, November 8.
Residents of Dabiasem were gripped with fear upon the discovery of Christopher’s lifeless body in his room at about 10 a.m.
The deceased, they said had been in his room throughout the previous afternoon showing no visible sign of depression.
The death to them has therefore come as a shock.
The lifeless body has been conveyed to the St. Joseph’s Mortuary in Effiduase for examination and post-mortem.
The Effiduase District Police Command has commenced investigations on the matter.
Previous incidents
On November 9, 2021, a middle-aged man was found dead at Walantu, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
The unidentified man was found in a pool of blood with machete wounds.
It was suspected the man may have been beaten to death by his attackers and later dumped in the Walantu community.
In October 2022, a man, 40, identified by a search team as Kwesi Alhaji, was found dead in front of an uncompleted building at Kasoa Opeikuma High-tension in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
He was in a shirt and boxer shorts.
He was found by a young man who went hunting for game in the bush.
A resident, Mr Okyere Boateng, told the media that the young man informed him about a pungent smell in the area while hunting for bush meat.
Mr Okyere said he organized some people and moved to the scene only to discover the almost decomposed body lying near the uncompleted building in the bush.
He said he then informed his landlord, who reported the matter to the police.
Also, in February 2023, a 55-year-old man identified as Kwame Entie was found dead in his room at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region. The decomposed body was found after a pungent smell wafted the area from the direction of his room.
It is reported that the deceased had been sick for quite some time, visited the hospital, and was gradually recovering until his demise.
Residents said he was not seen for days but their curiosity was aroused after they began to smell the bad odour emanating from his room and alerted the Police.
Following the report, the police embarked on a search on Sunday, February 19, 2023, and found his lifeless body in his room
On October 23, 2023, a woman believed to be in her late 20s was found dead at Kasoa America Town in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
The unidentified woman was found a half-naked body in a sack in an unused container shop.
