President Mahama, by Article 243 of the 1992 constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act, nominated Ebi Bright as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Tema Metropolitan.
The nomination was announced on April 23, 2025, in a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr Callistus Mahama and the Local Government Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim.
Abdulai Mahmud has also been appointed as DCE for Bole Bamboi in the Savannah Region, and Masud Musah Ayaaba Thomas as DCE for Atebubu-Amantin in the Bono East Region.
28 other persons have been nominated for various districts in Greater Accra, including Ignatius Godfred Dordoe as DCE for Shai Osudoku and Raphael Uriel Nartey for Kpone Katamanso.
