Kotoko have to recover and face reality after heavy Wydad Casablanca loss- Karim Zito

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach Abdul Karim Zito says his team has no option but to recover and face reality after losing 6-1 to Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca on aggregate to crash out of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Kotoko crashed out of the continental championship and followed up the embarrassing display with the shock announcement of the sale of Albert Amoah to Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi.

Speaking ahead of Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League game against Karela United on Sunday, November 2 at 15:30 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium, Karim Zito says recovery from the loss wasn’t easy but i is something his team has to do.

“We have to recover [from the loss to Wydad] because it’s part of the moment, we are out of it [the Confederation Cup], we should face the reality and come and prepare for the league if we want to go back again [to compete in Africa].”

“The executives came, the IMC Chairman [Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah] and talked to them” Karim Zito shared to Kotoko media.

Kotoko have two wins and two draws ahead of this weekend’s league clash against Karela United.
