Creative personality Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, also known as KOKA, has asked the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate Ghanaian rapper Chris Waddle’s finances, questioning how the artist funds his lavish lifestyle.
During an appearance in an interview on Saturday, June 21, KOKA stated that his demand stems from the rapper’s repeated social-media attacks, which were directed not only at him but also at former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“Chris Waddle has become a social commentator. He publicly ridiculed Nana Addo and his governance. Early this year, twice, Chris Waddle attacked and insulted me on Twitter [X]. And today, if the FBI is in Ghana investigating people, and me, I am questioning your wealth because you did music. The music cannot give you the amount of money you have and the cars you drive,” KOKA stated.
He revealed plans to submit a formal petition to the US Embassy in Accra, insisting the probe should extend to the rapper’s business dealings.
“I’m saying, till I rest, I will make noise. I’m going to write to the American Embassy. I will make noise till they get to his turn. I want him to know that you don’t determine who to fight, and then in a fight, there is no formula. Wherever the FBI is – if they don’t arrest him, then the ones they’ve arrested, I question it. Was he fair to my government? Was he fair to my personality? No. So nobody should question me about it.”
Chris Waddle, known for hits such as Ayi and his entrepreneurial ventures, has yet to respond publicly to the allegations.
The controversy arose as US investigators reportedly collaborated with Ghanaian authorities on financial and cybercrime cases, fuelling speculation about the breadth of any potential investigations.
