Ghana defender Gideon Mensah will not participate in the 2022 Kirin Cup tournament in Japan after being excused from camp.
Mensah was part of the squad that traveled to the Asian country for the Cup tournament but has been permitted to leave camp to sort out club issues.
The defender spent last season on loan at French side Bordeaux and impressed despite the club suffering relegation.
He is expected to return to the parent club Red Bull Salzburg ahead of next season.
But it is said Bordeaux is set to trigger the buy option in Gideon Mensah’s contract by handing the Red Bull Salzburg-owned player a permanent deal, which will see him continue his career with the club.
However, the technical handlers of the Black Stars led by Otto Addo have granted Mensah permission to leave camp and sort out some club issues.
