Ghana’s Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Jordan Ayew had plenty to smile about when Leicester City engaged Hungarian side Zalaegerszegi in a friendly game in preseason.
Leicester City beat the Hungarian side 1-0 with the winning goal coming from Ghana forward Jordan Ayew in the 70th minute.
Jordan scored his second goal in as many preseason games when he blitzed through the Zalaegerzegi defense before blasting the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper Bence Gundel-Takacs. The veteran forward scored in a prior friendly game against OHL.
After being out of action since November 2024 due to an ACL injury picked up in Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Angola in Luanda in the 2025 CAF AFCON qualifiers, Fatawu Issahaku returned to action.
He replaced Will Alves in the 68th minute for his first piece of major activity since picking up the serious injury in Angola.
Leicester City are adapting to life under new manager Marti Cifuentes and will play friendlies on Friday, July 25, against FC Karpaty Lviv and FC Koln. Scroll down to watch Jordan Ayew’s goal.
