John Dumelo pays fees for 50 ‘brilliant but needy’ students

Actor cum politician, John Dumelo, has paid fees for 50 brilliant, but needy students of the University of Ghana Legon.

The NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency through his John Dumelo Foundation paid in full the school fees of the students on Thursday.

Taking to Facebook to announce the benevolent gesture, he said Mr Dumelo he had committed his foundation to such causes since 2012.

John Dumelo revealed that because of financial challenges, many of these students have had to defer their courses.

He added that the 50 students were not the only ones who would get support from the John Dumelo Foundation.

The gesture comes on the back of Auditor General’s audit report on Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) scholarships, pointing to deep-seated rot at the fund.
