Bayer Leverkusen right full-back Jeremie Frimpong is eligible to play for Ghana despite being part of the Netherlands team that competed at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The 22-year-old’s opportunity to feature for the Dutch Senior National Men’s Football Team has received another setback after being left out of the provisional squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League semifinals.
This news gives the Ghana FA yet another chance to have the right-back play for the nation as the youngster is yet to feature for the Dutch senior side.
Frimpong is of Ghanaian descent through his mother; he has nine goals and 10 assists in 45 games in all competitions this season.
The provisional list of players for the Netherlands semifinal clash against Croatia on June 14 was announced by Dutch head coach Ronald Koeman recently.
Frimpong who plays as a right wing back missed out on a spot in the 32-man squad that had the likes of Fulham’s right fullback Kenny Tete called up. The winner of the Netherlands-Croatia clash takes on the winner of the Spain-Italy clash.
His recent form has sparked serious interest from Manchester United.
