Ghana forward Jordan Ayew has reacted positively to a 1-0 win for Leicester City over Hungarian side Zalaegerzegi in a pre-season friendly.

Jordan Ayew scored the game’s winning goal in the 70th minute after skipping past a couple of defenders before firing the ball into the net.

The game’s highlight was Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku making his return to action after a 215 day layoff to injury.

Issahaku missed the majority of the 2024-2025 season to an ACL injury he suffered while competing for Ghana’s Black Stars against Angola in a 2025 CAF AFCON qualifier.

After registering the winning goal in the friendly game, Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew shared his thoughts in an interview with Leicester media.

“So far so good. We’ve been working really hard since the beginning and trying to implement what he wants to do. It’s not perfect yet, but that’s what pre-season is for… With time and the Manager’s ideas, we’ll start picking up speed” Jordan Ayew said.
