“I’m not the only drunkard” – Justice Blay drops bombshell on Ex-Kotoko Teammates

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has made explosive claims about his time at the club, denying long-standing accusations that he was the sole source of indiscipline in the Porcupine Warriors’ dressing room.

Blay rejoined Kotoko for a second spell in 2022 after an impressive initial stint, but his return was marred by injuries and inconsistency.

He made just 12 appearances in the 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League season, failing to score a goal and struggling to replicate the dominant form that once made him a fan favourite.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Pure FM, the ex-Medeama SC star finally addressed some of the controversies that surrounded his stay.

“People have been misinformed that I’m the only drunkard in the club, but that’s not true,” he stated. He further alleged that he was not alone in engaging in off-field excesses, naming Joseph Ablor and Guinean midfielder Camara Mohammed as fellow players involved in smoking shisha during their time at the club.

Blay’s claims have sparked intense debate among fans and football watchers, casting fresh light on internal discipline issues at Kotoko and raising concerns over how such matters were handled by the technical team and management.
