Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus has promised to show the dedication he has exhibited at Ajax during his time in the Netherlands.
The 23-year-old said he would always play for the badge like he did for Ajax even when the move to West Ham United was very close.
He bagged a hat trick for Ajax in the Europa League playoffs before joining the Hammers four days later.
He joined the East London club on a five-year deal, with the option of a further year extension.
Speaking after the conclusion of the transfer, he said he usually focuses on his job on the pitch and leaves the negotiations to his agent.
“For me, the situation I was in as a player, the only job I could do was just do my job on the pitch and I just did it on the pitch. When I’m on the pitch, all the noise outside stays there.
“So everything on the pitch stays on the pitch, so my full focus was on that game, even though the other stuff was going on off the pitch. That’s the job of my family and my agent to take care of that and fully focus on the pitch.
“I live in the present moment so, at that exact moment, I was an Ajax player, so I was just doing my best for the badge and you’ll see the same thing over here.”
