Ghana coach, Otto Addo has hinted that he will make tough decisions in the next Black Stars call-up in September in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifiers.
Ghana will play Angola in a doubleheader in the qualifiers after recording a win against Madagascar and a draw against the Central African Republic [CAR] in their first two games.
After finishing 3rd in the 2022 Kirin Cup in Japan, the 47-year-old gaffer says he will assemble the best materials for the next qualifying games.
According to him, the four-nation tournament has given him an idea of the players he will need for the qualifiers and the 2022 World Cup.
“This tournament was good for us just to get some corrections and answers. There are a lot of tough decisions to be made,” he said during his post-match presser.
“In the first match, you could see that we were tired it was a long flight and we had played two matches before. After Japan scored the third goal it broke us a little bit but in general, I will say I’m satisfied [and] I think we did well.
“This makes it difficult for me to choose the players for the next window [in September] and this will be the last window before the World Cup but any decision will be with me. We will decide which players come in or not,” he added.
Ghana suffered a defeat against Japan before beating Chile in a penalty shootout with 9 men.
