Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres is hungry to prove himself in England on his return following a not-so-successful run the first time out.
He made this clear in his first interview as an Arsenal Football Club player following the conclusion of a protracted transfer from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.
The five-year deal to secure the service of the Swede is reportedly worth 55 million pounds, with 8.5 million pounds in add-ons should he meet certain clauses.
Gyokeres played in England for Swansea City, Coventry City and Brighton and Hove Albion before moving to Sporting Lisbon, where he shot to prominence by winning the league title twice and scoring 97 goals in 102 appearances while adding 12 goals in 17 appearances for the national team.

“I always want to score,” he said. “To be a part of this club and to score in this kit and with this badge in front of all the supporters, I can’t wait. It will be an amazing feeling.”

“I started here [in England], it feels like a long time ago. I think I’ve improved a lot since then. Now I want to prove myself for real and perform together with the team. When I played at Sporting, I scored a few goals in the Champions League so I feel that I can be on that level as well” he said.

Gyokeres will wear the jersey number 14 with the Gunners.
