GPL 2022/23: Nominees For Player, Coach Of The Month For January Announced

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has shortlisted top performers for the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League NASCO Player of the Month and Coach of the Month awards for January 2023.

Six players have been shortlisted based on their brilliance in matches played during the period.

The nominated players are:

Sampson Eduku (Tamale City FC)

Eduku has been instrumental in the team’s attack, scoring three goals in three games and winning one MVP title.

Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen (RTU)

Nurudeen has been a key defender in RTU’s set-up, making 5 appearances during the month under review, he kept 2 clean sheets with a goal to his credit, and he also won an MVP title.

Issah Kuka (RTU)

Kuka scored 3 goals in 5 appearances during the month under review, the player was awarded an MVP title from one of the matches.

Abass Samari (Accra Lions FC)

Samari scored 3 goals in 5 appearances during the month under review, the player was awarded an MVP title from one of the matches.

Steven Mukwala Desse (Asante Kotoko SC)

Desse made 5 appearances for Fabulous and scored 3 goals to keep up in the title race, he has an MVP title to his credit.

Agyenim Boateng Mensah (Dreams FC)

Mensah was on target 3 times in 5 appearances and managed to grab two MVP titles.

Meanwhile, three coaches who led their teams to impressive results in January have also been nominated for the NASCO Coach of the Month Award.

Below are the nominees for the Coach of the Month- January:

Yaw Preko – Great Olympics

Coach Preko led Great Olympics to two wins, and two draws in January, scoring six goals and conceding three.

His team, Olympics is ninth on the league log with 23 points after 16 matches played.

Kasim Mingle – Bechem United

In January, coach Kasim Mingle led Bechem United to three wins, two draws and one defeat, team scored 7 goals in the process.

His team is currently third on the league log with 26 points after week 16.

Baba Nuhu – Real Tamale United

Coach Nuhu secured three wins and one draw, the team suffered one defeat during the month under review, scored 9 goals and conceded goals.

The team currently sits seventh in the league standings with 24 points.

Winners will be announced by the FA soon and will receive a Television set each from sponsor Electroland.
