Former Hearts of Oak Commercial Affairs Manager Charles Kwarteng has dragged the club to the Ghana Football Association over breach of contract, non-payment of his salaries and other entitlements following his departure from the club.
Kwarteng has dragged the Ghanaian giants to the Ghana FA demanding his outstanding salaries from 2019, unpaid SSNIT contribution and the payment of his mandatory Tier 2 contributions which are in arrears for 24 months.
The highly-rated former top official is also demanding compensation for the shock he suffered as a result of the arbitrary advertisement of his position by the club.
Kwarteng was hired in 2019 as the General Manager, Commercial and Merchandizing but the role was changed to Chief Commercial Officer upon assumption of office.
He resigned from the role after Hearts of Oak won double last season and has since sent a petition to the FA demanding his entitlements from the Phobians
“That we are by this petition demanding for the payment of outstanding amount to our clients, “a petition signed by the lawyer of Kwarteng Paul Assibi Abariga said
“For the payment of the salary of our client covering the month of August
“For the payment of the use of our client’s vehicle as an official vehicle for 24 months.
“For the payment of client’s SSNIT contributions.
“For the payment of our client’s mandatory TIER 2 contributions which is in arrears for 24 months.
“Compensation for the shock suffered by our client as a result of arbitrary advertisement of our client’s position by the club.”
Kwarteng, who was appointed into the role in September 2019, left the club just weeks after the Phobians won double in the Ghanaian season.
The EMBA, MA and BA holder, was responsible for the club’s marketing outlook and device strategies to develop the Hearts of Oak brand as a viable global business.
