The former Chief Executive Officer of 3Music Network, Abdullai Abu Sadiq (Baba Sadiq), has officially announced his intention to contest in the upcoming National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries on May 13, 2023.
Speaking on his decision to contest in the 2023 primaries, the politician and entrepreneur said he will be running for the Okaikwei Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region and is poised to work hard to meet the needs and demands of the people in his constituency.
“Yesterday was when the portals for forms were opened, so I went through the process, did some submissions, and I’m going through the endorsement process”, he disclosed in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Joy News.
The seat is currently held by the NPP’s Patrick Yaw Boamah.
Baba Sadiq, although he did not provide any reason for resigning as the CEO of 3Music Network in 2022, there were speculations that he stepped down basically to focus on his political ambition, which he refuted.
Whiles in the showbiz industry, Baba Sadiq supported and engaged in all activities of the NDC, including underground campaigns for former President John Mahama.
He is known to support the constituency in diverse ways but kept his plans secret.
According to the NDC party executives, the parliamentary candidates must pick a form at the cost of GH¢5,000 and pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢40,000.
The cost of forms for the presidential candidates is GH¢30,000, and the filing is at a non-refundable fee of GH¢500,000.
