Officials from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in the Ashanti Region have started closing some shops due to the selling of substandard and counterfeit baby diapers.
This move is part of a continuous enforcement effort aimed at safeguarding public health.
This action is a result of previous intelligence-driven operations during which significant amounts of unapproved and expired diapers were seized from the market.

As stated by officials, laboratory tests performed on the confiscated items indicated that they did not meet safety standards and posed considerable health risks to infants.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to eliminate harmful baby care products from the market and to hold responsible traders accountable.
