Farmer arrested for killing 6-year-old son in Amenfi District

Residents of Adidaase near Manso Amenfi in the Wassa Amenfi District have been left in shock after a farmer, Abdul Salam, 31, confessed to killing his six-year-old son in a suspected money ritual.

The boy was first reported missing, which prompted a search across the community. Neighbours and family members joined in, hoping to find him safe.

However, after hours of searching without success, suspicions turned towards Abdul Salam.

When interrogated, he admitted to the horrific act, confessing that he had severed his son’s head and legs and hidden them in the bush.

Police in Asankragua confirmed that the suspect admitted to planning the killing with the intention of selling the body parts for ritual purposes.

His confession has left the entire community in grief and disbelief, as residents struggle to come to terms with the cruel nature of the crime.

Meanwhile, the suspect is currently in police custody while investigations continue.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the increasing cases of ritual-related crimes in some parts of the country.
