Eastern Company SC have completed the signing of Hearts of Oak star Benjamin Afutu Kotey on the final day of the summer Egyptian transfer window.
Afutu put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract with Eastern Company SC, becoming their latest summer signing.
According to grapevine sources, the club has dolled out USD$80,000 as sign-on fee.
Afutu will get over USD$100,000 should he be able to complete his three-year contract with the club.
El Sharkia snatched the services of the 25-year-old after beating off competition from Ghanaian champions Hearts of Oak, who were looking forward to pin the talented midfield dynamo with a contract extension.
Afutu made 29 appearances for Hearts in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and scored five goals.
Afutu was pivotal for the Rainbow lads in the 2020/21 season, helping the club to win the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.
He made twenty-nine appearances for Hearts of Oak and scored five goals.
He will now hope to help El Sharkia to remain in the Egyptian top flight and if possible win their first-ever title as the club might pull a surprise under head coach Ashraf Radian
