The moment I received news that you had withdrawn the suit. My world caved in because I know them and knew what they were up to. My heart was torn into two, one was filled with heartache and pain, and the other died with hope.
The NDC has Lost An opportunity to let another “icon of transparency and an epitome of integrity to lead them. All you wanted was for the right things to be done.But you became a target. There are very few of leaders in this category. Some come like a comet, only to fizzle out like the foam from a detergent, some like a temporary whirlwind, only to be still at its short surge.
You were a perfect example of what the NDC was looking for in 2024, a humble, selfless, truly confident intelligent, non-corrupt, and a tried and tested Economist in these hard times..
You think less about personal comforts.You reflect more on the common goal. Profit in worldly pursuits does not appeal to you.You stand by lofty principles and pursue them to a logical conclusion.
I followed you because of your love for mother Ghana and the NDC. Ever since you decided to join the NDC Flagbearer race you have indeed suffered from the Pestle-wielding critics and cyber bullies. An army of sponsored and self-appointed anarchists so diverse; many of them were attacking you. But in the face of severe provocations you allowed political maturity to prevail.
After you bowed out, these unrelenting, self-appointed activists,idle and idling, twittering, collective children of anger; a distracted crowd always want to feed on your name by attaching you to negativity for their personal interest.
They have not stopped. These I call unintelligent people. I describe them as cynics who continue to repeat silly clichés with your name and too many intelligent persons waste their talents lending relevance to it
Criticizing you out of ignorance. Abusing you out of mischief. All because you have joined the Flagbearer race.
When you bowed out you proved to them that you were an astute politician, a clever, methodical and intelligent man, who was very adept at wrong footings.What you wanted was for the proper thing to be done. Not money.
As an individual who held the Finance Minister position during one of the longest periods of stability for our currency since independence, and a former Governor of the Central bank, it baffles political level-heads why this hatred. You have become a victim of similar nefarious activities by some self-made political hawks in the party. Rather you believed in solving the problems in the party, through your Ahotor project which you have assured us that you will continue.
You are indeed attentive to the plight of the grassroots and humanity. You proved to the NDC that politics can be played without rivalry and enmity. Today, when I see them what should we tell them. Congratulations Dr Kwabena Duffuor. Your presence in Kumawu tells me you are who we see you to be. Party first. I salute you Sir.
