Desmond Offei replaces Samuel Boadu as head coach of Ghana’s Black Satellites

Desmond Offei has been appointed as the new Head Coach of the Black Satellites, bringing a wealth of coaching experience to the role.

The 35-year-old holds a UEFA A (Level 4) coaching license and has an extensive coaching background.

Previously, Desmond served as the U-18 Head Coach and U-21 Coach at Royal Antwerp FC and will replace Samuel Boadu who was in charge of the team for a short while. Offei also held roles as the Head Coach for Lokeren U-21 and Lusitano SAD.

Currently, Desmond Offei works within the Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association, where he leads high-performance initiatives.

He has also spent the past nine months working as an assistant coach alongside former coach Samuel Boadu.

Desmond’s coaching and scouting experience extends beyond Ghana, encompassing countries like Belgium, Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa.

Assisting Desmond Offei in his coaching endeavors are two accomplished figures in Ghana football. Nii Ordartey Lamptey, a former Ghanaian International player with a notable career spanning from 1990 to 2008, has joined the coaching staff.

The coaching team is further strengthened by Salifu Fatawu, a former coach of FC Tanga and Swedru All Blacks. Salifu previously worked alongside Karim Zito to secure gold in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania in 2021.
