The man captured in a viral video who beat up a female coworker at a financial institution in Nkawkaw has been convicted of the crime.
The convict, Ayivor Eliklim, assaulted the lady, leaving her badly injured and with a swollen left eye.
After the video was widely circulated, the Ghana Police Service arrested Ayivor Elikplim on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, and was arraigned the next day.
He pleaded guilty to the charge against him and was convicted on his own plea and remanded into police custody to re-appear today [ June 28].
At today’s hearing, the court announced that the sentence had been deferred to Tuesday, July 2nd, 2024.
Meanwhile, the victim, Martha Adutwumwaa, has revealed that Ayivor assaulted her after she came up short by GH₵90 following her daily collections.
The 28-year-old mobile banker explained that she exchanged words with her manager, Ayivor Elikplim, after explaining that she did not have enough money to pay off the balance.
The misunderstanding resulted in fisticuffs, leaving the victim with a bloodied face.
