A 31-year-old Community Police Assistant (CPA), Kwadwo Owusu, has survived death after he was attacked with a machete by his supposed childhood friend at Assin Kushia in the Assin North District of the Central Region.
The incident happened on Saturday, December 16, around 7 pm.
According to a relative of the victim, Ama Akoma, the suspect, 33-year-old Nana Kwadwo Peprah, stormed into Owusu’s room with a machete in an attempt to kill him. When he did not find him, he destroyed the items in the room.
Owusu’s deep freezer, television, fan, and mattress were destroyed, and his room was ransacked by Peprah, who is said to be his childhood friend.
She revealed that Peprah had earlier shared the victim’s picture on his Facebook wall with a RIP caption, an indication that he deliberately wanted to kill the victim to confirm his post on Facebook.
Close sources indicate that Peprah is mentally challenged.
Meanwhile, some of the victim’s family members have called on the police to arrest the suspect since they are gripped with fear immediately.
The case has been reported to the police for investigation.
