Collapsed teachers’ quarters kills 2 at Adansi

Two people are confirmed dead after a teachers’ quarters collapsed on them at Adansi Asilevikrom in the Adansi Asokwa District of the Ashanti region.

The building collapsed during a communal effort to demolish the already-weakened structure on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

According to an eyewitness, Mr. Prince Agboku who was part of the demolishing team, the roof of the seven-bedroom building had been ripped off by a rainstorm so the community decided to bring the whole structure down for reconstruction.

The structure, unfortunately, came down on them killing one person on the spot.

He said, the other later died at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

36-year-old Mawutor Atsu and 40-year-old William Okyere are the deceased.

The bodies have since been deposited at the New Edubiase Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
