Coalition Of Aggrieved Customers Of Menzgold Voice Out After Bulldog’s Court Fine

A Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of MenzGold (CACM) has issued a statement regarding the court fine of GH₵‎48,000 against Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson popularly known as Bulldog for threatening President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

The statement which was released to media houses later in the day on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, first and foremost queried Bulldog for perverting the peace and safety of the president of the Republic of Ghana.

“Whilst we do not endorse an act that seeks to pervert the peace and safety of our Respected President of the Republic, a fine of GHC48,000 against Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson aka Bullgod on his comments relating to our locked-up investment in Menzgold is quite harsh. For an aggrieved customer who appeared frustrated and sought to ventilate his views (however misnormal it may be) at the system to be treated with this high-handedness of the state is quite strange”.

According to the coalition, the inability of the government to retrieve the investments of affected customers of Menzgold triggered Bulldog to make that hash statement.

Bulldog according to the group is a double victim by the current ruling of the court.

Moreover, the aggrieved customers blamed the malfunctioning of democracy in the country as vulnerable citizens are left to fight their own battles in times of need.

“This is a product of dysfunctional democracy where leaders and duty bearers such as Executives, Parliament and the Judiciary have stopped working in the interest of the owners of the democracy, especially the vulnerable.

The very Court that is finding it difficult to press lawable charges against Nam1 for the past 4 years hurriedly finds it expedient to hand down fines against a victim of Menzgold?
Nearly 200 customers have died but our Parliament and Executives are all silent on it and the judiciary has not taken notice of this catastrophe either.
Nam1 will be emboldened with his gun waiting for customers at the confiscated Trassaco house
what a Ghana!”, indicated in the statement.
