Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has described calls for the sacking of Otto Addo as unfortunate and misplaced.
He made these comments on the floor of Ghana’s Parliament while addressing the house on matters in connection to Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team’s qualification to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars qualified to the World Cup for the fifth time earlier this month but there have strong calls to sack the team’s head coach Otto Addo.
After stating that the debate on dual national players’ potential inclusion in the Black Stars World Cup-bound squad should done without over the top emotions clouding decisions, the Minister In Charge of Government Communication, added that.
“There have been calls for the dismissal of the coach (Otto Addo) who guided us on this qualification path .”

“I believe that these calls are a bit unfortunate and they are misplaced because the man who has guided us to this qualification in stellar fashion is best placed to prepare the team for the competition itself.”

“It would be a tragic mistake to dismiss the coach and hire a new person who would have very little time to prepare the team…that time is simply too short for any experimentation.”
